 Wine-Time is about sharing my knowledge and love of wine.  I want to make it accessible to anyone who wants to share in the experience. Unravelling the sometimes exclusive nature of the industry and opening up a world of wine.

I enjoy helping people learn about wine to make the most of their dinner party, cellar planning or everyday wine experience in a way that suits them. I want people to get as much pleasure out of wine as I do.

My experience comes from the best of both worlds, trade experience and hospitality service. I have well established relationships with suppliers, wine merchants and wine makers. I have spent time with vineyard owners in their vineyards, tasting from barrel as well as rare vintages.

All my working life has been spent in the food, beverage and hospitality industry. My career began as sommelier within a large hotel group, spanning four years. Followed by working for a privately run exclusive use property, where I managed the cellars of both the owners and the business. Here I enjoyed food and wine matching for house guests' dinner parties, as well as hosting private and corporate tastings.

My passion for wine was fired when studying in Dundee I attended a course run by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. Johnny Walker, who was then at One Devonshire Gardens, was taking the course and after that, there was no going back.

In 2009 I was proud to be chosen to represent Scotland in the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs' International Young Sommelier Competition. The Competition is the only international level competition of its kind and one of only two competitions dedicated to the art of sommellerie. We may be currently restricted in where and how we meet. But why not arrange a virtual tasting?   We can put together a bespoke tasting pack.  Perhaps a quiz with friends? The possibilities are endless. 

Eating In

I want you to enjoy your wines as much as possible and you can't beat a perfect food and wine match. Many wine producing countries such as France and Italy produce wines that are made for food and the idea of having one without the other is just wrong.

Most restaurants are now offering great take away menus, so why not eat out at home! Drop me a line or give me a call and I will help you choose great wines to go with your meal.
