Gloria underwent extensive modernisation in 1991. Chateau Gloria produces wines that drink relatively young and being inland from its more famous (and expensive) neighbours, its sits on Günz gravel over sandy clay soils.
The result is a beautiful deep intense red colour, Lovely, jammy prune and blackcurrant aromas. Elegant, silky and precise on the palate, with dense, harmonious tannins. Helped in no small part by ageing 45% of the wine in new American and French oak for 12 months. A smooth finish for this particularly attractive vintage. Simply stunning!
The traditional partner to roast beef and hearty meat dishes.
